
Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has clinched the Best African Music Performance award at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards for her hit song “Love Me JeJe.” The ceremony took place on February 2, 2025, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

“Love Me JeJe” is a contemporary rendition of Seyi Sodimu’s 1997 classic, blending modern R&B elements with traditional African rhythms. The track has garnered international acclaim for its innovative fusion and Tems’ soulful vocals.
This win marks Tems’ second Grammy, following her previous award in 2023. She was nominated in two categories this year: Best Global Music Album for “Born In The Wild” and Best R&B Song for “Burning.”
The Best African Music Performance category was highly competitive, featuring prominent Nigerian artists such as Yemi Alade, Asake, Wizkid, Davido, Lojay, and Burna Boy
